Before I ever had a title, NBAA gave me something even more valuable—confidence, connection, and a sense that I belonged in this industry. What started as a way to grow turned into something far greater: it helped me find my purpose, my people, and ultimately, my path to becoming a CEO.
Early in my career, I joined Air Routing International, a company that understood the true value of relationships. They believed in investing in their people and made sure we showed up—not just for clients, but for the industry. That meant attending NBAA events regularly, where I had the opportunity to meet clients, peers, and partners face-to-face.
I still remember my first NBAA event—I was intimidated, eager to learn, and unsure of what to expect. What I found was a welcoming and inspiring community where mentorship was prevalent. Many of the key contacts in my network I met back then are still trusted colleagues and lifelong friends today.
Later, during my time at FlightSafety International, I continued to immerse myself in NBAA’s community, and they supported my attendance at NBAA events. The Leadership Conference, Schedulers & Dispatchers Conference, International Operators Conference, and regional forums each offered something unique—new knowledge, fresh perspectives, and invaluable relationships.
I’ve also worked for companies that didn’t prioritize NBAA engagement, and the contrast was stark. Without it, you’re isolated from the energy, innovation, and mentorship that can elevate your career.
Today, as the President & CEO of Paragon Aviation Group, I look back and clearly see how much of my journey has been shaped by the people, moments, and opportunities I encountered through NBAA. It’s not just an association—it’s a launchpad for leaders who are ready to grow, connect, and give back.
If you’re serious about a future in business aviation, don’t just join NBAA—show up, get involved, and let it shape you like it shaped me.
