Integrating Safety to Keep it Simple

If ‘Safety’ is simple, everyone will do it.  If “Safety” isn’t simple, it becomes difficult to ensure it’s embedded in your operation consistently.  That’s the challenge that Polaris Aero strives to solve.   A big part of keeping Safety simple is weaving into the existing operational workflows and systems that drive the business process.  This is where integrations with Scheduling, Flight Planning, and Fatigue Risk Management come into play.

Once a passenger contacts the flight department, the flight details are entered into the Scheduling system, and the operation begins.  Having an immediate risk assessment for that flight allows the scheduler to become aware of potential hazards that need to be addressed and can take action.  This has a profound impact on customer satisfaction and reduction in ‘day of flight’ firefighting exercises.

As you approach the day of flight, the flight planning work starts to initiate, whether by dispatchers or the crew themselves.  The preflight risk assessment needs to provide an immediate update on residual hazards and/or new hazards that have emerged, such as weather changes, new NOTAMS, or fatigue issues arising from recent pop-up trips.   The risk assessment should also be the framework for a crew discussion with operations and management as required to ensure that there is alignment on the best decision for the situation.

Having VOCUS FlightRisk integrated into Scheduling and Dispatch systems, and incorporating the Pulsar Informatics Fatigue Meter technology ensures that schedulers, dispatchers, and crews are seeing the right information in the systems that they operate in as part of their existing workflows.  If your Crews aren’t receiving the information everyone needs to know before takeoff, it’s a great time to consider rearchitecting how you maintain safety on each flight!
