Aircare International Unveils Next-Generation Inflight Medical Diagnostic Platform for Business Aviation

As onboard health and safety continue to rise in importance for flight operations, Aircare International is once again leading the way. The company has officially launched the Aircare Emergency Diagnostic Platform (AEDP), a next-generation in-flight medical platform designed to enhance diagnostic capabilities and provide seamless access to real-time care during flight.

The AEDP replaces Aircare’s previous system, the Aircare Remote Viewing Station (RVS), by building on its solid foundation with faster performance, enhanced clinical tools, and a streamlined user experience. The new platform offers peace of mind for passengers and crews alike, with a smarter, more efficient path to medical support when time is critical.

At its core, the AEDP is a rugged, tablet-based system that integrates encrypted video conferencing with a powerful suite of diagnostic tools. These include a MedWand multi-sensor device, infrared thermometer, digital stethoscope, high-definition camera, digital blood pressure monitor, glucometer, pulse oximeter, and a 2-lead ECG, with an available upgrade to a 12-lead version. Together, these tools provide a comprehensive view of a patient’s condition, allowing for self or assisted exams onboard.

Data from these devices is securely transmitted to Aircare’s board-certified emergency physicians, who are available 24/7/365. Using the AEDP, these clinicians can see and hear the patient, analyze real-time vitals, and guide the flight crew through emergency protocols, all in-flight, all in the moment.

“The AEDP is more than just hardware, it’s a direct line to expert care, delivered through a service platform that’s been trusted by operators worldwide for decades,” said Karl Kamps, VP of Operations for Aircare Emergency Telemedicine & Staffing. “It’s built to respond quickly and reliably, even in the most demanding environments.”

What sets the AEDP apart is its intuitive design and optimized performance for aviation use. Lightweight and portable, and ruggedized for cabin use, the system integrates seamlessly with Aircare Emergency Telemedicine. It also complies with data security and privacy requirements, ensuring patient information is handled with the highest standard of care.

Key benefits of the AEDP include:

  • Real-time medical guidance from emergency physicians
  • Comprehensive digital diagnostic tools
  • Secure, encrypted transmission of video and data

Flight departments now have a reliable, advanced diagnostic platform that ensures they’re never alone in a medical crisis, regardless of where they are in the air or on the ground.
